Frequently Asked Questions
This is a reference point to clarify questions about a coaching partnership and common questions regarding structure.
If you have questions about what's possible through partnership - inviting you to take responsibility in scheduling a conversation.
What is coaching?
Coaching is a creative modality grounded in the skills of listening and speaking. Coaching acts like a mirror, revealing patterns, habits, and ways of being for the client. Coaching is intended to support generating awareness and empowering conscious choosing.
Coaching can include sharing reflections, forward focusing questioning, creating exercises to support the practice of new awareness, building accountability structures, distinguishing automatic responses, incorporating somatic experiences to be connected to your physical body, along with a variety of open-ended prompting to generate clarity and awareness.
What is your coaching structure?
Our coaching conversations will be one hour in duration. I meet with my clients either two or three times a month based on the agreed upon cadence we set during our intake process. I work with all of my clients on a six month retainer. Outside of our designated coaching sessions, the coach may be available for spot coaching as needed and requested by the client.
How much does it cost to work with you?
My standard rate is $300 per coaching conversation and my clients are billed on the first of the month. I offer a discounted rate for black and brown leaders that are exploring coaching services for the first time.
What can I expect from my coach?
I am going to honor and accept you exactly as you show up. I am not going to try and fix you - I couldn’t if I wanted to. I am going to act as a highly reflective mirror to give you an elevated experience of yourself to generate awareness of how you’re showing up. I am going to stand for you to make intentional choices based on who you’re committed to being and what you’re committed to creating in your life.
Coaching will be confronting, challenging, and edgy at times. Regardless, I will stand for who you say you’re committed to being from a place of service and love. An integrous coach will not believe the disempowered stories or circumstances that inevitably arise as to why you’re not experiencing what you want. A coach is committed to empowering personal responsibility and living a life reflective of your core truth.
How do I know if it’s the right time for coaching?
Every human has an edge to overcome that’s necessary to break into the next threshold of their possibility and impact. If you’re aware of your edge and notice that you’re predictably not working through it, you better do something about it unless you want your life to stay the same.
Are you being responsible for the impact in your life by not showing the fuck up? Whatever that means for you, it’s vitally important that you own the answer to that question.
